Working alongside Willmott Dixon, Hewitt Studios have been developing a specialist, sixth form centre in North Bristol. The project creates a high quality and adaptable environment, pushing modern ways of learning alongside a forward-thinking approach to sustainable design practice.
Sustainability and wellbeing are at the heart of this project, with a cross-laminated timber structure and an array of photovoltaic panels along the southern elevation. Supported by WECA, there is a political and social impetus to prove that high quality, sustainable architecture can be achieved whilst meeting the demanding constraints of a publicly-funded state school.
